7 June 2019, 5.30 – 7.30pm, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge
Speakers: Mattias Hessérus, John Bew, & KC Lin. The study of history can never offer a cut-and-dried template for policy making, and historians are right to be wary of casual short-hand analogies such as ‘Westphalia’, ‘Munich’, and ‘Vietnam’. That said, can applied history, analysing today’s geopolitical challenges through the prism of humanity’s cumulative store of experience, offer a wider perspective and a more imaginative strategic vision? This is a joint event, held with KCL.
