Readings: Pat Porter, ‘A World Imagined: Nostalgia and Liberal Order’; Mira Rapp-Hooper and Rebecca Lissner’s piece entitled ‘The Liberal Order Is More Than a Myth’; and Graham Allison’s ‘The Myth of the Liberal Order’
Themes: What is ‘world order’?: Is there a shared definition, and has it been a useful concept historically?; What, if anything, is left of Anglo-American conceptions of World Order that is pertinent to the changing international environment of the twenty-first century?; The relationship between international order and grand strategy.
